How?" was the very first book on the profession that I read when I started working as a teacher. Since then I have been trying to read everything she writes, watch her performances. She is a very important source of information for me. I like how loving and scientific at the same time, as if she is talking about children. At one time, Janusz Korczak became a discovery for me. His book "How to Love a Child" is practically a desktop for me. I have not met anyone else who would write so deeply, honestly and vitally, with such an acceptance of himself and the child. First of all, this is respect for children and the ability to see the good that is in them. The second is the so-called soft skills. Collaboration, flexibility, communication skills, emotional intelligence, critical thinking. The teacher himself must have them, because, as I said, he is an example for children. He must be able to create situations in which children can show these skills, master them. You need to see how much you yourself have such skills, and then think about how to form them in children. Many children travel much more than educators, they are more open, more erudite even in some areas. For example, I had a child in my group who knew everything about insects, he had a large selection of magazines on this topic. It is very important for adults to support the interests of children and help them develop those interests. 

What personally helps you to develop the most? How do you hone your craft?

Oddly enough, activity outside of work helps to develop more. These are travel, and communication with different people, a wide range of interests, reading professional, fiction. There are examples, people who want to learn from, senior colleagues whose experience I want to apply in my practice. For example, communication with Anastasia Shlemko, the winner of 2018, helped me a lot. I managed to work with her when she came to Perm, and this made me very professional. 

Children sometimes say such things that an adult will remember for a long time. Have you ever had such cases? A couple of years ago, I say goodbye to one of the guys at the end of the day, he also says goodbye to me. And suddenly he suddenly turns to me and says: "Evgeny Vladimirovich, I will believe in you." It so happened that then I was going through a rather stressful period in my life, not the most pleasant, and these words were for me like the sun peeking out. It was very unexpected and pleasant to hear them. What do you like to do most in your free time from work? 

Travel. This allows you to see that the world is very large. When you close yourself in the circle "home - work", horizons narrow, you stop seeing opportunities. It is always great and interesting to get acquainted with the culture of other countries, to be surprised at something, to go beyond the limits of your ideas, to expand them. For me, travel is always an adventure. Something might happen that doesn't fit into the plan. Most often, I travel on my own, and there is a need to solve non-trivial tasks, for example, to find a hotel, not speaking the language of the country I came to. You get a new communication experience. When I return home later, I feel like a slightly different person. 

What achievements are you most proud of? Do you make immediate plans for self-development?

Of course, one could say that the main achievement is winning the competition, but this is not so. Still, there is a big element of chance in it, luck. You recalled that I wrote on a blog about constructive relationships with the families of children as one of the greatest achievements.
